§ 112-69. Conflict of interest.

  • (a)

    No member of the board shall act on any case in which he has a personal interest, whether it is a direct or indirect financial interest in the property itself, or by virtue of family relationship with the developer pursuant to the city's Code of Ethics (see section 2-125).

    (b)

    Any person who has a conflict shall notify the chairperson or secretary immediately upon realizing a conflict may exist. A board member who has a conflict may not participate as a board member on the item in which he has a conflict of interest.

    (c)

    An alternate member shall replace any member who has a conflict of interest or who is unable to attend due to an illness or an extended absence from the metropolitan area. The secretary of the board shall be responsible for contacting the board members prior to the meeting to determine the need for alternate members. If an alternate member is needed, the secretary shall be responsible for contacting the alternate member.
