§ 54-35. Containers.

(a)

A blue recycling bag owned by the city will be made available to residents for their usage as part of the city's recycling program.

(b)

The city will furnish residential customers a city-owned 65- or 95-gallon plastic solid waste container with attached lid, wheels and integral pickup attachments for utilization with automated collection systems.

(c)

City-owned front and rear load dumpster may be rented to individuals for placement of solid waste.

A mechanical solid waste collection system will be utilized by the city to pickup city-provided containers for collection by solid waste vehicles equipped with lifting devices. Except as designated by the city council, the mechanical solid waste collection system will be the method of collection for household waste collection service provided to citizens in the city. Where it is impractical for city collection vehicles to operate due to terrain or other conditions, an alternate collection method will be provided.

A recycling collection system utilizing manual labor will be used to load recyclables from the city-provided recycling bags.
